3rd & 4th Matches, Sunway Lagoon, Ipoh, George Town, Penang & Awards evening

-Please excuse the delayed blog post, there was a technical difficulty-

For the second blog post thus far, we are currently sat on the M25, this time, in the direction of Sutton Valence.

The last few days, though without any blog updates, have been fantastic.

Wednesday, we enjoyed a great day out at the world famous Sunway Lagoon, with the whole tour party enjoying the wide range of theme park rides and water slides available

Thursday was a day of travelling, up to Ipoh, allowing the girls some much-needed time off, including a fantastic recovery session on the hotels rooftop lawn area.

On Friday, we played our Third match, against Gunung Rapat School at the Stadium Azlan Shah - a venue that is regularly used for international fixtures. During the game, the girls finally found their groove and finished victorious, with a score line of 2-0, goals coming from Alex Sacker and Maisie Rixon. Maisie was also awarded player of the match, for an inspired performance up front.

Saturday, we travelled north to Penang following a tour of George Town and its historical street art.

On Sunday, we had our final fixture against Mutiara Impian School in some extreme heat and humidity. The girls put in another outstanding and mature performance, keeping the ball well and creating numerous gaps for the forwards to exploit. We eventually ran out 4-2 winners, goals coming from Eloise Turnbull, Alex Sacker, Imogen Taylor and Amelia Semmens. Alex Sacker was awarded player of the match, following another dominating performance.

Monday was a day of rest (or sun searching if you are Miss Jelfs), hair braiding and time in the pool, as well as a lovely three course lunch at the hotel.

We concluded our tour with a final team dinner and awards evening at a local restaurant, the girls were then allowed time to visit the local night market and cram in some last minute gift buying.

Finally, our long pilgrimage back to Kent began with a quick flight from Penang to Singapore, where the six hour layover allowed the party some time to explore the beautiful airport, that included an indoors Bird Atrium, Water Vortex and even multi-story slides!

A small delay when leaving Singapore could not hamper the girl’s spirits and we arrived safe and well rested just before 7am this morning.

Pictures & award winners to follow.
