The group have had an action packed couple of days. The boys visited the Victor Van Steer Prison where Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 before moving on to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek towns to explore these fantastically impressive areas. The party also had a morning visiting a Cheetah Sanctuary meeting these incredible creatures. The team have played Paarl High School for Boys in a tightly fought contest. Paarl scored 137/3 and in response SV scored 120 all out with Jack Stanton-Gleaves scoring 25, Cameron Lindsay 24 and James Yeabsley 22. Paarl winning by 17 runs. Yesterday the boys played Bridge House School where SV scored 108 all out, Bridge House responded with 109/5. The game went down to the last ball in what was a nail biting final over for all concerned. Unfortunately SV came out on the wrong side with a loss but the boys showed tremendous character and spirit in the field in nearly 40 degree heat. Louis Ridge taking the most amazing of catches. The last couple of days has seen the boys being hosted by opposition families and the hospitality shown has been quite incredible. The tour mascot, ‘Barry the cuddly toy Penguin’ continues to accompany the boys to all matches and functions.
